At Bearly, our story started with a simple need: a safe sunscreen alternative for sensitive skin. As a registered nurse and a mom, I wanted something natural, chemical-free, and effective to protect my son, who would break out in rashes when we used traditional sunscreen.
Unable to find a solution I could truly trust, I began crafting my own formula using whole, nourishing ingredients—beef tallow, shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, beeswax, and non-nano zinc oxide. What began as a small kitchen experiment quickly grew into Bearly California Sun Balm, a sun care product that’s gentle enough for babies, safe for pregnancy, and kind to the planet.

To extend shelf life, Bearly would love to live inside your refrigerator, but room temperature works too. If exposed to high temperatures, store inside of a cooler. If it liquifies, place inside refrigerator and it will solidify again.

Nano zinc oxide protects you from the sun because it sits on your skin’s surface and reflects or scatters harmful UVA and UVB rays, creating a physical barrier that prevents them from penetrating and causing damage. Unlike chemical sunscreens, it works immediately and doesn’t get absorbed into your bloodstream.
